BLUES REVUE MAGAZINE SAYS REILLY’S ROAD IS GOOD-TIME PARTY BLUES

Happy New Year from Camp Reilly! Things are off to a great start. We’re happy to report our latest release, REILLY’S ROAD, was recently reviewed in the November/December 2011 issue of Blues Revue Magazine.

Michael Kinsman, Blues Revue Staff Writer, and President of Blues Lovers United of San Diego, says of the album, “Mike Reilly, a Southern California guitarist and singer, is making up for lost time with this recording. Reilly has been a mainstay on the West Coast for 25 years, playing blues in a variety of assemblages, but always in a band that knew precisely how the music should be played.” He adds, “Best known for his work as a slide guitarist for the bands of Elvin Bishop and Gregg Allman, Reilly displays his muscular guitar playing, clever songwriting, vocal skills, and arranging here.”

HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND A ROCKIN’ NEW YEAR!

Happy Holidays from Camp Reilly! It’s been a good year and we have plenty to be thankful for. Looking back, it was a blast getting to reunite with the original Mike Reilly Band line up. We sounded like a finely tuned panhead by the time we hit our last note in October! It was also great to hang out with our friends Marshall Tucker and Elvin Bishop last summer.

No doubt, we got a lot done in a short amount of time. We managed to get three songs recorded for a new album that’s currently in the works. More on that in the new year. We’re also working on new Mike Reilly Band merchandise, including T-shirts, patches, and more. Thanks to everyone who’s been providing feedback and ideas!

On behalf of the band and myself, I would like to wish all my brothers and sisters a Happy Holiday Season and a Merry Christmas! We’ll be jumping back out in February in hopes of seeing old friends and making new ones.

A special shout to our friends at the Flying Eye Network and the House of Blues Radio Hour. Thanks for all you do!

ROCKIN’ THE SILVERADO FAIR ONE SONG AT A TIME

The Mike Reilly Band rocked the annual Siverado Fair on October 8th. Talk about a good time! The band would like to thank everyone who came out to show support. The Silverado performance was our first show back in Southern California after having hit the road for Utah in late September.

IN MEMORIAM: BROTHER OF THE ROAD JOEL “TAZ” DiGREGORIO

Brother of the road Joel “Taz” DiGregorio, longtime keyboard player for the Charlie Daniels Band, has passed on from injuries in a car accident while he was in route to meet the tour bus for dates this weekend.

On behalf of my family and band, we’re very sorry for your loss. I’ve had the honor to perform on two of the CDB Volunteer Jams. For that, thank you brothers. Very proud to be associated with “Southern Rock”.

THIS WEEKEND: THE MIKE REILLY BAND TO PERFORM AT THE SILVERADO FAIR

The boys are back in town! This Saturday night, 5-9 p.m., The Mike Reilly Band will be performing at the Forth-First Annual Silverado County Fair & Art Festival in Silverado Canyon, Calif. as part of “The Saturday Evening Blues Fest.” Adult admission is $5, while kids are $3. Those under 3 years of age get in free. All proceeds will go to benefit local charities.

The Mike Reilly Band is back from their road trip north to the beautiful state of Utah. No doubt, they left folks there in a Rockin’ State of Mind! In addition to good times and good music, the band encountered many good people along the way. Thanks to EVERYONE who made it out to our two shows. A special thanks goes out to Pat of Pat’s BBQ, the entire team at Brewskis, Brian J. Smith for his amazing photos, “Bad” Brad Wheeler, Brian Kelm, and the Welty family!

The band is currently working out the details of their next trip to Utah, possibly during The Sundance Film Festival! Details soon. In the meantime, here’s some photos from the trip. Thank you Utah for making it a Rockin’ Good Time!

Mike Reilly and his wife sometimes joke that he is the Forrest Gump of rock.

As sharp as Reilly is, a better comparison might be made with Woody Allen’s character Zelig — caught on the right side of history with music legends, at the right place at the right time.

The talented guitarist has had the opportunity to play with, to name but a few, B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Elvin Bishop, Willie Dixon, Billy Gibbons, many members of The Band, and even the man who blues players joke invented electricity — Muddy Waters. Read the full article.

MIKE REILLY TO APPEAR ON KRCL RADIO THIS MONDAY NIGHT SEPTEMBER 19th

This week The Mike Reilly Band will be hitting the road for a Rockin’ Good Time in Utah State! To kick things off, Mike Reilly will appear on KRCL 90.9 FM in Salt Lake City this Monday night at 8:30 p.m. Mountain Time/7:30 p.m. Pacific/10:30 p.m. Eastern.

He’ll be talking to Brian Kelm, of Red White & Blues, about the band’s latest release, Reilly’s Road, as well as the making of the album. Mike will also talk about his busy summer, the All-Star reunion band lineup, and some good things to come!
